He was born in 1957 in Wroclaw, married, he has three children, and is a vegetarian.
He graduated in 1981, the Department of Economics, Exploitation and Transport School Transport and Communications in Žilina, Slovakia. In the 80s he taught mathematic in schools in Wroclaw. Periodically he worked as a heightworker. In 1986-89 he participated in the Movement "Freedom and Peace." He organized protests against the ironworks Siechnice, against nuclear power plant in Żarnowiec and against storage of radioactive waste in Międzyrzecz. In 1987-89 he worked in the Regional Executive Committee "Solidarity" of Lower Silesia, also published in the underground press, especially on the threat in environment and in working environment. He attended also in “the round table” in the ecological team. In the historic election, 4 June 1989, he was elected an member of parliament. For 12 years he sited in the Parliament. Participated in the Citizen's Movement Democratic Action party, later transformed on Democratic Union, and later on the Freedom Union. Being a member of Freedom Union, with group of friends he founded the Ecological Forum environmentalists of Freedom Union, who led for 7 years. At that time, FE UW initiated and led to the acceptance of many important instruments for example introduced into the Constitution the principle of sustainable development, enacted a bill on the protection of animals.
From November 1997 to June 2000 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Forestry. As the only member of government in coalition with the AWS he voted against tightening abortion law. He was opposed to the winter Olympics in the Tatra Mountains. He was a member of the Freedom Union from its beginning until April 2002, when he returned to actions in the ecological movement. He was also chairman of the Associations of Polish Green Network. One of the founders of the political movement “Green 2004” www.zieloni2004.pl.
He is still active in the movement of non-governmental organizations. Currently is chairman of the Ecological Association EKO-UNIA, under which carries out projects in the area of ecology, sustainable rural development, international cooperation and the promotion of green policies. Since 2004 he is the representative of ecological organizations in Monitoring Committees of Agricultural Sectoral Operational and Rural Development Program and since 2007 this involves also Infrastructural and Environment Operational Program for years 2007-2013.
Ewa Leś (Vice President)

She graduated biology and environmental protection at the Wroclaw University and is specialist in herpetology and non-forest ecosystems. She is active on fields of environment protection, ecology and ecological education (botanical expert for agri-environment schemes, No 1831/2008 in the registry of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development).She carries out inventories of natural environment.
• participation in the development of environmental education programs in the Karkonosze Educational Center
• Voluntary in WWF action
• participation in environmental projects (among others - revitalization of the habitats of birds nesting in Przemkowski Landscape Park, the protection of amphibian & reptilian habitats)
• inventories of fauna and flora (mostly Herpetofauna and grassland habitats) domestic and foreign areas (Karkonosze National Park, Klodzka Valley, Crimea, Kazakhstan)
• Environmental education - workshops, happenings, international projects
She graduated various trainings:
• "Legal/law resposibility for damage in the environment"
• Course "The Baltic Sea Environment"
• Training for botanic experts for use in agricultural-environmental programs
She it’s also an author and co-author of several scientific and popular publications.
Now, as a member and vicepresident of the Ecological Association EKO-UNIA she cooperate in several projects including the sustainable rural development, revitalization of meadow habitats in the Lower Silesia and environmental education.
Dominika Sokulska (Board Member)

She graduated the Agricultural University of Wroclaw with PhD in Agricultural Sciences. She’s specialist in grasslands and landscaping greenery. She has participated in research projects:
• natural inventory and to determine the optimum method of protection against erosion scarps waste storage tank flotation Iron Bridge,
• natural inventory and the project of park revitalization in Polanica Zdrój,
• analysis of the suitability of species and varieties of lawn grasses and their mixtures for establishing grasslands for football fields
• the possibility of renovating the grassy football surface
• Identify possible ways of transforming agricultural landscapes in recreational areas.
She is author and co-author of several scientific publications, research and studies.
She worked as university teacher and as banker and leaded workshops, science and business conferences (including international). Deals with the design of green areas and carries out inventories of natural environment (botanical expert for agri-environment schemes, No 1842/2008 in the registry Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development). As a member of the Ecological Association EKO-UNIA promotes environmental education. She works for sustainable rural development (certificate Moderator Village Renewal from the Office of Marshal of Lower Silesia, a member of the Program LAG Dobra i Widawa). She is also editor of the trade and technical journals.

History
Ecological Association EKO-UNIA was founded in 1994 in Gliwice. The main activity was building the environmental awareness in Silesia region and the organization of the annual Summer School of Young Ecologists.
In 2001, after the election of new board of the Association, most of which came from Wroclaw, the Association moved to this town. Since then, the main area of interest of the activity of Association is: to promote the integration of the Green Movement, international cooperation, development of rural areas, pronatural and pro environmental activity .
The Association promotes and coordinates civil initiatives aimed at implementing the constitutional principle of sustainable development - ecodevelopment through:
• information and educational activities,
• to seek systems, technical and technological solutions to achieve this objective
• promotion of initiatives related to building and cooperation with economic parties (entities) involved in pro-ecological activity
• taking steps to improve the legal environment and implementation of the principles of sustainable development
• promotion of development of civil society and the spread of tolerance
• promotion of European integration and the participation of Polish society in the European Union.
